About Me
My name is Chris Raper. I was born in Cincinnati (actually in a suburb called Milford), Ohio on November 13th, 1984. I grew up in a Christian home with a brother named Tim and parents named Phil and Vicki. From childhood up to the present I have always had a passion to play sports. I especially love to play soccer and I have been that way since my junior high days. As I got into high school I found that I enjoyed the sciences, especially the physical sciences. I ended up taking 7 years of science classes in my 4 years of high school and my appetite for these subjects has not been sated. I am now studying as an aerospace engineer at The Ohio State University, where I am finishing my last year of school.
In high school I discovered a couple other passions that I still enjoy today. I discovered programming through my graphing calculator and actually published (more like uploaded) a couple calculator programs to the web (you can read about these from my Projects category). I still love to program and this website is a result of that love. I am also working on two other programs currently in a programming environment called Matlab: one program to solve any sodoku puzzle given by a user, and a program that will solve the rubik's cube graphically as I do. In addition to this passion I also love to study the sciences, especially physics. I have read A Brief History of Time, Elegant Universe and The Fabric of the Cosmos. Finally, I also enjoy studying the apologetics of Christianity.
While in college I quickly got involved with a student organization
called Campus Crusade for Christ. I got the privilege to attend Bible
studies with them for several years and am now a Bible study leader in
the dorm I lived in as a freshman and sophomore. This involvement has
shaped my time in college greatly, and I really don't know what my life
would be like at college if I had not gotten involved with them. I have
made a lot of friends through this student group and it has challenged
me and enabled me to grow in many ways in my relationship with the
Lord.
I don't know what I will be doing with my self after I get my undergraduate degree. I am certainly willing to be an engineer, but I am open to other avenues as well. I plan on waiting for direction from the Lord for this decision. If you have any questions for me, feel free to send me an e-mail at the link on the bottom of this page.
